Vapomer retains mercury vapors, even in high-humidity streams. The retention capacity of this product is of approximately 0.3 kg of mercury per kg of carbon.

 

The gaseous stream in the Vapomer bed must contain a surface velocity between 6 and 12 m/min.

 

The empty bed contact time must be between 8 and 20 seconds, depending on the mercury’s initial concentration and the maximum final concentration allowed.

 

Vapomer is more efficient at high temperatures, provided they are not higher than 100°C. Once the practical adsorption capacity of this carbon is exhausted, the mercury can be recovered by distillation, reestablishing its original capacity between 85 and 95%.
