Mega is a carbon pinewood-based, and activated with phosphoric acid; therefore, it does not contain heavy metals and related contaminants typically present in coal.

MEGA has a diameter with pores larger than 50 nm, so it adsorbs with greater efficiency high molecular weight organic contaminants such as colors, fats, oils, and natural organic material, in general.

MEGA activated carbon complies with specification B 604-90 from AWWA, American Water Works Association (granular activated carbon for water purification).
