Powder carbon for improve lightning rod

Conducarb is a synthesized carbon especially used to improve physical grounds designed to ground electrical circuits and lightning rods. It is manufactured from coconut shell, because since it grows in brackish water zones, it takes the form of a carbon whose structure contains an important proportion of ions that increase its conductivity. Carbonization takes place at high temperatures with the purpose of obtaining a semi-graphitic carbon which is a better conductor than an amorphous carbon (such as wood).

This product is pulverized until passing a 50-mesh with the purpose of obtaining a high density and the minimum inter-particle space that guarantee the highest conductivity possible.

Conducarb is applied to grounds formed by porous minerals that show a high electrical resistance and which due to the same, do not allow a sufficient conductivity with one or a small number of copper rods.

Conducarb may be applied alone or with other products. Bentonite is one of them, which, despite its high cost, it increases the carbon’s own property since it is hygroscopic and maintains a certain level of humidity.

Conducarb may be applied after the copper rod (1.5 or 3 m) has been placed in the drill hole made on the ground. Since it is an insoluble and very stable product, it keeps its conductive properties throughout the time.
