Carvapur is an active carbon highly microporous that has the property of preferentially adsorbing organic molecules whose molecular weight ranges between 55 and 250. Such molecules tend to be volatile, so they are typically present in the air and other gases.

It is manufactured from coconut shell and is thermally activated, thus obtaining a large surface area that provides it with a great adsorption capacity. Typically, it retains between 0.2 and 0.8 kg of contaminants per kg of carbon. Carvapur has a high hardness so it is not pulverized during handling. It is manufactured in different ranges of particle size, standing out the 14x30 and 4x10 sizes.

It is recommended that the surface velocity of the air or gas that is purified with this carbon be between 10 and 30 m/min, and that the empty bed contact time be higher than 0.1 seconds.

Among the main applications of this product are: respirators, industrial contaminants control, incinerators, air conditioning, fridge deodorization, solvent recovery, extractor hoods, compressed air purification (diving tanks/cylinders and hospital tanks), cigarette holders, car canisters, and purification of industrial gases, such as carbonic gas, hydrogen, helium, acetylene, and carbon monoxide.
