Carboro is a granular activated carbon specifically designed for the recovery of gold and silver cyanides in recovery circuits for these metals. It is manufactured from coconut shell, a raw material from which the maximum hardness available in the market is obtained. This is vital since carbon erosion is minimized, thus avoiding valuable losses of the product adsorbed.
Carboro has a large surface area composed by nearly 95% of micropores whose size is the appropriate one in order to retain the metallic compounds previously mentioned. Likewise, this carbon is produced in a wide range of particle sizes that allow each user to choose the one that provides the greatest adsorption kinetics, according to the process hydraulics.
Carboro’s physical properties make it the most suitable carbon in order to resist elution and acid-washing processes at different temperatures, as well as thermal reactivation. It is possible to optimize any of the advanced precious metals recovery processes with this product, including Heap leach, carbon-in-pulp (CIP), and carbon-in-leach (CIL) processes.
Carboro may be delivered as pre-washed and free from fine particles –in this case it is called CARBORO LF in order to avoid the need backwashing/back flushing techniques in the mines that are not provided with proper facilities for this operation. |
